Asian Journal on Mediation
All references to the Journal shall mean the “Asian
Journal on Mediation”.
A. Conditions for Publication
1. Originality All papers, articles and case notes
(hereinafter “Submissions”) submitted to the Journal must be
original. As a condition for publication, the Author(s)
warrant(s) to the Journal and its editors and publishers
that the Submission does not infringe the copyright or any
other rights of any third parties.
2. Exclusive Submission By sending a Submission to
the Journal, the Author(s) warrant(s) that the Submission is
not being simultaneously considered by any other
publication, and that the Submission shall not be sent to
another publication until a response is received from the
editors of the Journal.
3. Offensive, defamatory or other material As a
condition for publication, the Author(s) warrant(s) that the
Submission does not contain any obscene, offensive,
defamatory or racially prejudiced material and that the
Submission will not expose the Journal, its editors or
publishers to any civil or criminal proceedings. Author(s)
agree to indemnify the Journal, its editors and publishers
for any liability whatsoever that may be incurred as a
result of the publication of the Submission.
4. Copyright
a. In consideration for the Singapore Mediation Centre
(“SMC”) publishing the Submission, and on condition of due
acknowledgment of authorship, the Author(s) grant to the SMC
an irrevocable, transferable, sub-licensable, world-wide,
non-exclusive, royalty-free right and licence to
(i) reproduce, publish and distribute their
Submission(s) in all media, including but not limited to
print, electronic media, CD-Roms, and on-line
transmissions;
(ii) translate the Submission(s) into any language
and publish the translation(s) using the means referred
to in paragraph (i); and
(iii) reproduce the Submission(s) for conferences,
courses, lectures, seminars, symposia and other
educational events organised solely or jointly by the
SMC.
b. The licence referred to in paragraph (a) shall be
granted for the duration of the subsistence of the
copyright, including any extensions and / or renewals.
5. Choice of Law and Jurisdiction These conditions are
governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and each
Author submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts of Singapore.
B. Submission Guidelines
1. Submissions should be submitted in electronic form in
Microsoft Word format by email to
journal@mediation.com.sg.
2. Where a Submission contains graphics, tables or charts or
other significant formatting, one hard copy, double spaced
and printed single-sided on A4 paper, should be sent
together with an electronic copy on a CD in ISO format to

3. Submissions should not generally exceed the following
lengths :
- Articles, 2500 words;
- Shorter notes, including comments on recent cases
and legislation, 1,000 words;
- book reviews, 800 words.
4. Articles should be accompanied by an abstract of about
100 words in length. The abstract is not included in the
recommended word limit of the Article.
5. Submissions must be accompanied by
- the full names of the Authors (with the family name
underlined or in bold); ·
- mailing address; ·
- e-mail address; ·
- telephone and fax numbers, if any.
6. Submissions must be in English.
7. Submissions should be formatted according to the
Singapore Academy of Law Style Guide (2004 Edition)
available from the Academy’s website. |
